Reid - Heated Rivalry

I wanted to start reading Non Violent Communication, put it back on my reader and saw that the trilogy of game changers was there. I looked at the first chapter of Heated Rivalry et voila, I was in...

Shane Hollander plays hocker for Montreal and has a single rival Ilya Rozanov playing for Boston. Both of them makes the perfect rivalry and the press loves to emphasis this duel. However, soon in their career, Shane and Ilya met and discover a mutual attraction. For both of them it starts as a curiosity, lead mostly by Ilya and his fearless character, while the nice Shane only follows, unable to listen to his rational self. The relation evolves from a weird and shameful hookup to recurrent sex until they finally understand and accept their sentiment. They manage to put an action a plan where Ilya moves to the Ottawa team, 1h away from Shane in Montreal. Together they announce a foundation as a way to change the rivalry image that the press adores into a public friendship.

The way Rachel Reid writes is very addictive. A few sentences suffice to get me immersed in the book. Compared to the first volume, the story is way more developed with more nuances and an evolution of sentiments. This is not just a love at first sight, but a rivalry / hate that evolves over time. Both of them have mixed feelings and conflicts between their sentiments and the rationality of their position.
